As an accredited laboratory, the EPH provides comprehensive testing of industrial coatings for furniture, flooring, windows, doors and façades, also in the DIY sector (almost all types of  dispersion paints, lacquers and varnishes) according to national and international standard testing procedures as well as own works standards, preferably for proving usability regarding curing, mechanical and chemical stability, durability and biological resistance as well as the chemico-analytical determination of ingredients in fluids and coatings.

We also determine the coatability of substrates and, with experienced probands, the processing characteristics of products for the DIY sector.

Depending on the product, also electrical or moisture-related physical properties or the aging behaviour under the impact of climate, light or weathering may be in the focus.

As an approved testing, surveillance and certification body (PÜZ-Stelle), we are also active regarding emission-tested parquet and screed coatings in line with DIBt principles for providing proof of these forms of coating according to the Building Regulations of the fedral state (Landesbauordnung LBO) by issuing General Building Authority Permits, and determine odour emissions.
