EPH Accredited by DAkkS as EPA-TPC

9. May 2018

After the Deutsche Akkreditierungsstelle (DAkkS/German Accreditation Body) had conferred accreditation upon the Entwicklungs- und Prüflabor Holztechnologie GmbH (EPH) for certifying energy management systems acc. to ISO 50001 in March 2018 already, the EPH managed to obtain another import DAkkS accreditation.

In the course of reaccrediting the EPH product certification body acc. to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17065 and in addition to the already existing CARB accreditation, the EPH has now been accredited by the DAkkS – itself an official EPA-Accreditation Body (AB) – for monitoring formaldehyde emissions from wood and wood-based materials, conforming to the new guidelines issued by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Thereby, the EPH has met already at this time the additional EPA requirements to TPCs, which will come into force on 22 March 2019. Moreover, the EPH has gained Flexible Accreditation Grade 1 for four laboratory units of its test laboratory accredited acc. to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025. Therefore, the EPH is entitled – without prior approval by the DAkkS – to apply various editions of standards to standardised test methods or to freely select test methods corresponding to them.
